Painting video projects ,, story 8

Hello my loves,

Getting back to art is exciting, new ideas pop into my head every day these days but I only have time to do so little. But the little bit that I can do I want to share with you. I want to start making little videos of how my art comes to life.

This piece is inspired by my old cottage shed that is in the brink of collapse. The rustic feeling of it is a different kind of beauty. Especially the rusty hook that is about to fall off. I love things that have seen a lot of life, if things could talk what stories they could tell. Maybe an old woman sang lullaby songs while opening the hook to feed the chickens or to gather firewood, living her life in the same land that we now own and live in. Once upon a time this place was new and bright as well. I will take these old hooks and locks and even horse shoes I have dug up in the garden. I will take them all, cherish them for their life and place them on my fire mantle as a tribute for their work well done. It is time to rest and just be beautiful. I have never really liked shiny and new things, they dont have such a strong energy for me.

I grabbed my loyal paint mug, easel and brushes and headed to my back garden. The late hour was magical, sun was setting slowly behind the stormy clouds, air was humid and I just knew if i was not quick enough with my painting session I was going to get rain pouring down on me and my work. I loved the ticking time bomb. It rushed me to paint this piece in one sitting, I always work better with a timeline, otherwise there is a danger that I will never complete the artwork. I can always paint things that I find exciting or with some sort of meaning to me. But once the feeling passes I cannot bring it back and I put the half done pieces aside. Half done works usually get repainted like this piece, it has had 3 different paintings on it but I think this one is a keeper. The rough patches and texture turned out great and I love it.

Video is now up on my youtube, so grab a cup of hot tea, take a seat and come paint with me,,

with great Love,

Brita
